Survey background
Please note the survey has now closed.
The National Diabetes Experience Survey gives people living with diabetes the opportunity to share their experience of NHS care.
This important new survey is being run by Ipsos on behalf of NHS England. It has been developed together with people living with diabetes. The results will be used to help the NHS improve experiences of self-management and care for people living with diabetes.
Why is the survey important?
The National Diabetes Experience Survey is the first NHS survey of its kind. Until now, there has not been a national survey of this scale among people living with diabetes. This is an exciting new opportunity to have your voice heard.
If you would like to find out more about diabetes or get help with your care as a result of this survey, read our FAQs.
How have people been invited to take part?
People living with diabetes were chosen randomly from an NHS list of people living with diabetes called the National Diabetes Audit. NHS England matched names with contact details from the list of patients registered with a GP, called the Personal Demographic Service (PDS). Around 100,000 adults living with type 1 or type 2 diabetes have been selected to take part in the survey this year. For more information on how we accessed and use data, please see our FAQs.
